This is ART. I particularly like the disappearing act. Kudos!

Microsoft already HAS a virtual meeting space technology called LiveMeeting that works very well (and before that, they has "NetMeeting," also known as "conf"). This story is complete BS. With that said, any competitor that DOESN'T carefully analyze competing products and services is at tremendous risk. Where do you think Microsoft gets many of its ideas?

...which are then downloaded to your hard drive, the way Burnout Paradise or Gran Turismo 5 Prologue are today, and the idea doesn't seem so far-fetched. From the begining, Sony has positioned PSN games as more robust than the Xbox 360's downloadable games -- this just reinforces that. (Really, how many games fill up the majority of an entire Blu-Ray disc, anyway? MGS4, LBP and very few others -- and practically no cross-platform titles exceed the Xbox's DVD capacity.) Want to play Blu-Ray mo...

...that lets you get onto the railing of the stairs, from which you can walk over and get onto the top of the bar. People dance up there, or even go behind the bar and "bartend." That's even more interesting than the rooms and artifacts hidden behind the not-so-secret keycodes.

That was funny. This "Story," however, is just a lame attempt at stirring controversy.

I never thought of trying that (dragging furniture out the window over the water) -- very cool!

..are features I couldn't care less about. I like the more realistic avatars, and my whole family had lots of fun building and dressing characters, then exploring the world, and last night, I had no problem getting time at a pool table or arcade machines. So boo hoo hoo. Home isn't for everybody. Maybe the haters will stay away and home will be better for those of us who like better eye candy than the competition offers.

Home's first two "open beta" expansions are for Uncharted and Far Cry 2, and the first video feature in the second wave closed beta (the last couple of weeks) was SOCOM, and Red Bull is up next. There's a shopping mall to hang around in, and everybody (to date) gets to have their own luxury apartment and house, cool clothes, voice chat, etc. That sounds like "knowing its audience" to me. The virtual arcade games that allow you to win clothes (what, you didn't know?) are pr...

What -- 12 releases announced or released since Neversoft took it over? Pluck that golden goose!

That is a Dec. release, so the Nov. 18th press release said.

Bah, Second Life's biggest problem is that the graphics look like crap, and it's unreliable as hell (and dog slow on the Mac side, as well). VRML-based "avatar communities" sucked, and so did every other "last gen" example I tried. Home looks better, runs smoother, and works better than any avatar community in the PC market. I think Home will prove to be quite popular with the "sims" (non-hardcore) crowd. The people I've shown it to all say it's amazing and beaut...

I just bought my second Blu-Ray player (a Samsung BD-P1500), but you just have to take a look at the AVS Forum thread about this model to see why Blu-Ray's not quite ready for "the mass market" yet. People need to update their firmware to play certain titles (usually for reasons related to the "dynamic" copy protection system), a workaround is necessary to hide the "BonusView" overlay window, some people find they need to leave a USB thumbdrive plugged in at all ...

Given the choice between this and yet another PS3-versus-360 video comparison, I'll pick the tutorial, thanks.

"....a young generation of music listeners has gone years without having the opportunity to listen to one of the greatest bands of all time." Yes, those poor, poor Luddites who have never heard a radio or listened to a CD.

Wow. Very little pop-in, as well. I hope there's a demo. Rotten controls can kill a flying game.

I'm getting annoyed now -- I preordered LBP from Circuit City and it still hasn't arrived. Now, it seems every time I go into a store, I see LBP on the wall and... it burns, it burns! Thanks for the guide, though.

Will it ship with and/or without Rock Band lookalike instruments? How will the "entire catalog" be distributed? (Sounds expensive!) And who will be first to get five stars on "expert" for "Revolution 9"? :-)
Lame question from PS3 Attitude!

From me, at least.

I just bought this guide, and I was delighted to find a Halloween-oriented "spooky" section in the EXTENSIVE "Create" section of the book. How to make ghosts, graveyards and such -- perfect timing!
Seems like a pretty good value for the $20 it costs.
