Every time I ask my girlfriend if she wants to play a game with me, she just says, "I don't play games, I don't know how to play." I guess I need to keep trying. I am going to try your 4 steps.
When I worked at Target, this game was on clearance for like 10 dollars. Then next day, when I went in to buy it, GONE... I want to try this game.
You would think that eventually devs would learn how to do all this sh!t correctly...
I think BC isn't necessary, but someone like me with such a huge library and only limited connections, would love to be able to leave all my PlayStation gaming on one console.

I love MGS4, and I agree, SC has to do something special to compete. The reinvention of Sam Fischer has to be one that leaves a mark on gamers or else he will become a shadow of what he used to be.
At work, if I have a deadline, then I have to meet it. I think gamer developers need to meet their deadlines and stop being irresponsible. I also think the media needs to stop giving unofficial dates to get hits too.
