I would ventrure to say they probably got the Star Fox date and figured it would be Zelda...I can see that happening

Personally, I feel the ability to take on the personas of the different races would be very awesome to have as opposed to bringing the masks back altogether. Majora's Mask is special because of the masks. However, certain elements (such as being a Deku, Goron, or Zora) were introduced by this and would make future games awesome, as we now have a taste of what being each of these races would be like now.

Do Wii U commercials even show on TV? Since it's launch, I have never seen a commercial on tv for it. Granted, I rarely watch tv, just curious. I just figure if they did plenty of advertising on tv, I'd hear more people talking about it
Hey, cool! I went to one of these Saturday :D it was pretty awesome! I wasn't even going to Best Buy for this reason. I honestly think that his response is pointing to a character creation element. And I don't mean that the created character is just any character. Quite possibly the character the player creates will be the "Link" of this story :) hell, imagine if you could be a Zora, or Goron, or Deku! Remember Majora's mask. At this point I think it's not unlikely:
1) looking at elements we like about Skyrim
2) supposedly fan desire for Majora's Mask is...
O_o so this means either no Metroid at ALL for a while, or a different company will be making one. Regardless, my hopes of Retro Studios bringing us something "everybody's been wanting" in a Metroid game have been doused.

Actually, I have not missed any of those. I am, indeed, looking forward to X (XC having been released back in 2010 so over three years ago) and I have yet to play Pikmin 3 (the third game of the Pikmin universe not counting the Smash Bros series). I would really like to get into Fire Emblem, so that's one I do plan on picking up at some point. Heard many good things.

I respect him and all...but I'm kind of sick of seeing Mario at the moment. It's frustrating hoping for and expecting news on a brand new game or a continuation of one of the bunches of other IPs Nintendo's got, only to see something else "Mario."
At the moment I have ten games for my U, all of which I am still gradually playing through. Only three of them are Nintendo exclusives. None of them (save Nintendoland) have anything to do with the plumber...

My sentiments were/are pretty much the same. The game looks great and surely it will be awesome...but it isn't what the console needs right now. There are soooo many side-scrolling platformers available for the U at the moment.
I completely understand Retro wanted to do this, and more power to them. However, the game probably could have waited. A 3D platformer would have been great with visuals like these! Something that would let players explore and have fun. Oh we...

Never have I regretted getting my Wii U, though I've been bummed out by the lack of news on upcoming games beyond the few that have been the focus of Nintendo Directs for the past year. Being patient, though. Once games like X, Zelda U, and (hopefully) a new Metroid come out, everything will be golden.
In the mean time, Wind Waker, ACIII, ME3, Ghosts, and even Pandora's Tower have been keeping me satisfied. Haven't even picked up Xenoblade or Black Flag yet O...
X is definitely part of the cure for Wii U's situation. I strongly believe that making Xenoblade Chronicles a Gamestop Exclusive and only for a limited time was a detriment to its sales. People are still going out and buying it, now that they've made it available again.

Don't know if you remember this ^ but if it ended up actually being concept art, hell.
They tried it as a arena fighting game, which was kind of a ridiculous choice to focus funding on...but what about an rpg similar to X/Y with which they only release the three starting pokemon plus a select group of pokemon not available in the world of the game, itself, as figures that can be used on any Wii U owner's game.
This would allow for trading AND duels with anyone who has the pokemon game!
Yeah, seriously. What the HELL is the problem with Nintendo's marketing? They've admitted doing poorly at marketing, but are they gonna do something about it?? Pop out a few commercials for Splatoon and Xenoblade ... even Hyrule Warriors still. At the end, it shows that it's exclusively for the U with a pic of the U with it.
