He's talking about the clearance of the old 360 models which doesn't make any sense because the 360 only started selling 500k to over a million a month after the slim and Kinect. I think this is his damage control trying to downplay what he can.
The clearance wasn't that long, just around a month or more? long before the holiday season. The boost wouldn't have made that much difference to the overall 2010 numbers.

That's because retailers are buying more Kinects because of demand so they're in and out of stock more often. Retailers buy Move but buy them less often at lower numbers because the demand isn't close to kinect.

Not a excuse... The 360 isn't going to crack japan no matter what. The Xbox brand failed before it launched their and not because of Microsoft. Gaming was seen(still seen over there) as a Japanese market, one they are very proud of helping make it what it is today. Gaming is almost cultural to them. They are not going to have an American company come in and take over their native market share. The 360 is going to crack Japan like a Chinese console would America.

That's the silliest thing I've ever heard the Japanese prefer what they perceive as fantastic or better yet cutting edge and out of the ordinary. Shiny futuristic stuff. They are forced to grow up fast so when they become adults they live out their childhood through entertainment. Anime was inspired by Disney characters like Betty Boop and Popeye.
Japan doesn't make those products Maria and death. If they had major investments and leadership in those industries it would be a different story. Japanese snatch up Ipods because they don't make Ipod hardware and America is the leader in software with a technical edge too big to ignore. Disney is not a single product it's a experience from a Disney movie to a Disney Park.

What a "whah" comment. Oh cry us a river. Kinect has mass appeal to millions especially for gaming. I think it deserves the fairness and support gaming sites have and consumers have the right to praise it.

Don't use video chat with avatar tracking it's far more dangerous for your social and mental well being compared to static communication with avatars :p
Going to pre-order as soon as possible. Is it me or does the new design have glowing buttons? They took the glowing line wrapping around the pad away and streamlined the mapping controls on the back of the pad.
He can't resist the type of Kinect articles that show Kinect is much bigger then gaming. He tends to get frustrated when news shows Kinect is much more than what PS3 fanboys say it is and when the news shows a much broader group of people possibly having their opinions shaped by the news he can't control his damage control trolling.
Also I think the PS3 figures are way off. If PS3 sold 500k the month before it's not going to jump over a million the next month when the product isn't hot.
