I couldn't help but laugh as soon as Gabe Newell came onto the stage at E3 for Sony. After all the flaming he's done against the PS3, it must've taken a lot for him to suddenly say it'll be the best version.
Hilarious.
Some interesting ideas here. I really loved Uncharted 2 so can't wait for the third.
Also, Naughty Dog doing sand = mind blown!
Couldn't agree more. N4G has a problem, and it's not the news being posted - it's the idiots clicking it.
I don't understand why so many N4Gers complain about real, proper, gaming journalism, opinions et al, because it doesn't conform to their opinion, yet allow a story like this to become top second and has over 1000 degrees? Hypocrisy, much?
In other words, N4G doesn't want real news, it wants more tits ands sex.
I disagree. I think it's good to look at things critically, since otherwise we'll never get any kind of pressure to make something truly perfect.
I think this is just one stage of Yamauchi making a game as perfect as it can be, and if no one is critical then there will be no need for improvement.
That's just my two cents anyway...
Apparently that is on the way, Yamauchi tweeted it at some point, but it's not this patch that does that.
I don't think damage is particularly well done, but I'm glad it's in there. Heavy damage is just too much though, there's no difference between a low speed crash and a high speed one.
I much prefer light damage, even despite these complaints of it being brief.
It's not surprising really, how many games does Xbox 360 have next year? 1?
Compared to Sony's, 7-8?
It's all maths, innit.
Kinectimals is awesome, you all need to try it to see how good it is. So there.
Well said, Braben.
It's just a shame that so many original titles, like Enslaved and Vanquish for example, miss out on sales because people don't think to look for the next original idea.
I wouldn't miss the major franchises if they suddenly stopped making them.
I'm likely to get annoyed watching this. Idiots who don't know what they're talking about seem to love making wild accusations about what gaming DOES, but are so ill-informed that anything they say is nonsense.
And those who watch it will believe their media-spin.
Already getting annoyed...
They're not actually trolling. You would know that if you read the article, as other commenters here have proven.
In fact, the title is a response to everyone using the term 'the year of the PS3' and how it annoys the person who wrote it.
At least there are some sensible people on N4G who actually read articles instead of just taking a headline and forming an opinion of what the piece says and getting (unjustly) angry.
You're a decent person, so thanks for that.
I'd love to see a new Mirror's Edge. The first had so many possibilities and I'd like to see DICE doing something different - as much as I love Battlefield.
I agree, I got the MX5 first too but never actually raced it due to unlocking the Tommy Kaira car. It made up for itself in later races though.
Good point about the Penniless trophy too, I missed out on that so will have to do it the hard way.
"head tracking, which we calibrated several times and tried to use across multiple race disciplines and cars, but we simply couldn’t get it to work."
That's ridiculous. How long do they need to finish the game? There's no point including a feature if it's not going to work.
Good review, btw. You can see you've given it time unlike some.
The link above clearly states its x360 magazine. If you don't like NowGamer, that's fine, but dragging NowGamer into something that is quite clearly NOT from them is ridiculous.
You just find every opportunity you can to insult NowGamer for some pointless reason.
It might say NowGamer Network, but it's not run or managed by them in anyway. What x360 magazine say and do is completely seperate.
This really looks like such a fantastic game. Glad to hear it's not being dumbed down either - I want to be the detective myself.
The fact that you have a complaint about the new scoring system shows that it was a valid point to make?
It was included since many will want to know how little things like that have changed. It has become a bit more like COD in it's point scoring system.
I agreed with the Alan Wake bit too. I just don't see how people can rate this as one of the greatest games of the year? It's good, by all means, but definitely didn't live up to the hype. I was disappointed by that, but enjoyed it at times.
I expect Alan Wake 2 will be much more improved, Remedy must've learnt from it.
