The "power" narrative shouldn't be a reason to buy an Xbox series as in reality, it has been proven that many titles perform better on PS5.
I personally prefer playstation exclusive games and support. After trying the Dualsense on PS5, I just cannot go back to any other controller on the market right now. The Dualsense is just amazing.

Phil changed xbox from having exclusive games to not having exclusives and the few it gets, they put them day 1 on PC. From constantly bragging about hardware and software sales to hiding everything sales related in order to hide the shame. From having low software sales to create a subscription base service in order to coup with the situation. From dominating the USA market to loosing it to Sony.

This is still first and foremost the responsibility of the developer as owner of the development, software and quality. Trying to deflect the responsibility from the developer as you are doing is not correct.

Xbox sales never were high even before gamepass.
Sony doesn't need to respond to Microsoft as you are saying. Playstation is not the leader of the market by responding to what Xbox does. Not even Nintendo, which is having more success than Xbox, is doing their business based on or responding to what Microsoft does.
Gamepass could become a thread in the future? No one knows and there is no market data to suggest that, just opinion pieces. As of right now, gamepass is not a thread to Sony or Nintendo.
I think you just proved the point. It is a better deal in terms of money? Yes. Does people are actually preferring that deal? No. People are still preferring PC and Playstation even if they have to pay which is exactly what is making gamepass looks bad.
Having a "better deal" doesn't mean you are getting better results that the competition.
