I think it was just not that bad but it wasn't a game at the altitude of SH.
You hit the essence of Returnal... That satisfaction of getting better and the adrenaline rush of losing everything if you fail is something special. You are right... Games used to be like that in the NES era.
Silent Hill is a Japanese game. Western developers have tried to make SH games before and they have failed. Only Kojima has come close with P. T.

Bloober 's previous game The Medium was mediocre. I don't know how they got that contract. I have nothing against Blooper but they don't have what it takes to make a GOOD SH game.
After all this time, I don't want a mediocre or average SH game. I want SH to return to its former glory.
I want to see what is that significant SH game backed by Sony.
PS5 Control Ultimate Edition is beautiful but that save transfer problem was bad.

I was hoping for it to be SH but now that it isn't, my interest dropped hugely.
This was a good game on PS4. Now with Dualsense support, I will play it again for a second time.
Isn't it ironic that at the start fo the generation many people said "Dualsense is a gimmick and developers swill not embrace it" and yet, all we today is developers detailing their Dualsense support everywhere.
