You make excellent points and there are certainly SP games that people go back to, but there are very few that have high player counts after they've been beaten.
There will be a holiday bump. It sold well, but for the most part SP games lose players over time.

People bought it. Played it. Went on to other games. That's literally the story of every SP game.

Never understood this trend of disbanding lobbies. If I was having a blast with randos, we'd all have to scramble to get gametags and friend request, then join each other.
