Celeste

From the moment I took my first jump, I fell in love with the satisfying way its protagonist, Madeline, feels to control; soon after I fell just as hard for the charming world she inhabits. But Celeste also caught me off guard with a relevant and emotional story about the pressures of modern life. What’s remarkable is that the story isn’t told in the background or overlaid on top of the action with constant interruption, but seamlessly and thoughtfully blended into ...

Matthew Perry, Fallout: New Vegas

Perry's voice acting performance in Fallout: New Vegas is mostly looked on as a sour note in what I consider to be a great Fallout game.

Keiji Inafune
Mighty No. 9, ReCore and Red Ash: Those one's don't look like a masterpiece and definitely are not on the level of something like MGS or Mario or DMC or Quake. I think it looks like a random team creating a random game, not something that has a great mastermind behind it.

Hainly Abrams in Mass Effect: Andromeda

She informs you that she's transgender during your first conversation, and she explains that the future galaxy of the original Mass Effect trilogy didn't solve the problem of transgender discrimination. She explains that she was routinely referred to by her pre-transition name (dead name), and that she came on the Andromeda mission to escape the baggage of that life.

This introduction is terrible for a numbe...

GLaDOS

To whatever degree GLaDOS may actually be evil, this fact is remedied by the fact that GLaDOS actually sacrifices herself in the original game. Don't believe it? Just think about it for a moment. All of the mechanics that are taught to you through out the game, the ones that eventually lead to GLaDos’s death, are taught to you by her. GLaDOS built all the test chambers that gave you your skills, then forced you to progress through them. We know this. Did the supe...

Horror games. I think the key to these games is really placing a good amount of stress on the player. You need them to feel a sense of vulnerability whether it's low ammo, low health, etc.

JRPG

I’m sure everyone has a different reason, but for me it is the stories. I like my games to be long enough that I can form an emotional attachment to my character and explore the world.

Lack of Local Multiplayer

It seems that in the current decade, it’s now often impossible to play a game with someone in the same room and on the same console. Some devs still recognize the popularity of local multiplayer and offer split-screen or the ability for multiple people to control characters on the same screen. It’s just mind-boggling when some games don’t offer that option, at all. It’s almost as if social gaming is far from the minds of certain devs. It’s great th...

For me, it is real games on VR. I'm already growing tired of tech demos dressed up as full games. I understand why we do not have a lot of them and why most games follow this fun concept blown out approach, but that's really what I'm waiting on.

The beginning of the Cross Platform Gaming though Sony wants to be absent.

Since so many gamers are playing the same games nowadays, and now they are getting the right to populate the same online networks regardless of the console. In other words: people are starting to be able to play online games with their friends, regardless of platform.

Assassin's Creed Origins

The stealth mode isn't that great, there are no so much places to hide, or mixing up with the crowd.
It's a gorgeous world this game but everything Assassin's Creed was has been deleted including being an assassin. They do give you the option go in sneaky or just go all out attack but honestly that's never been the focus of the game. The combat its more like Witcher, but the parry system in Witcher its more fun. For me ...

Because it was the first game that I have ever played mixing RPG and simulation and I absolutely fell in love with it

Little King's Story lies a deeply enticing kingdom simulation element that lets me add layer upon layer of cool expansions to my budding empire. Between enhancing my conquering capabilities, beefing up my command prowess, diversifying career roles for my peasants, and generally improving the ...
