@MacDonagh- The fact that all of the companies are involved in gaming is irrelevant. EA, Google, and Microsoft are all mainly software companies so it is only natural that they're liabilities are smaller than Sony's. Apple is the only one on the list that has some pull in the hardware business with their iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers. With that said, Sony has a hand in a lot more markets than Apple. They make TVs, radios, speakers, surround sound systems, gaming consoles, PCs, pho...

That's what I did. I was gaming on a launch 20GB (upgraded HDD to 160GB) until the slim was released. Now I have my slim in my room and my launch PS3 in the living room

All of this pointing the finger at video games is BS. I will be the first to admit that the ESRB was not taken seriously back when I was playing violent games for the PS, but now, Gamestop has gotten super strict about selling rated M games to minors (at least in my area they have). On top of that, there are PARENTAL CONTROLS on the PS3 and 360. If you don't want your kids playing violent games, open your PS3/360 user manual, look for PARENTAL CONTROLS in the table of contents, and take a...

It's getting really old. The only time I worried about sales was when I first purchased my ps3 because there were so few of them in people's homes that the third party devs and publishers could afford to ignore the fanbase in favor of a check from MS. But now, u see less and less devs doing this because both fanbases are about the same size. At this point, sales should only matter to the companies selling the product. As long as each company is selling enough to pump out great new gam...

I will not be buying kinect until I see something that interests me. I'm not really that much into motion controls but if something I like comes along for kinect I might consider buying it. I bought the Move and I've had a ton of fun using it with MAG and I'm looking forward to using it in KZ3. If MS incorporates Kinect into hardcore games in a clever and effective way like Sony has done with the Move, I might give it a try.

I think it will sell because MS will market it as "controller free" gaming. Even though it is not the same as the Wii, the casuals perceive the PS Move as a Wii copycat. Just yesterday I was at my brother's house watching football and the KB Move commercial came on during one of the games. My brother was like, "Oh now PlayStation has motion controllers. Whatever I already have a Wii." (He has two kids)

Video games (and tv, music, partying, etc.) all CAN interfere with education but from my experience with video games, they have not effected my study habits in any way, shape, or form because I don't LET them interfere with my education. I've been playing video games since the Super Nintendo (barely remember it though, I was really young) and I am currently in th Honors College at my university and I play A LOT of games.

Every time another article about it is put up, it makes me want to get in my car, drive to Best Buy and pick one up.
Just a couple of questions. How far from the Eye do you have to be? Because there is not much room between the end of my bed and the furniture my PS3 is on. I could always play it on the PS3 in the family room, but people are usually using the tv or the PS3 to watch a movie. Also, does the Eye need to be at a certain hight with respect to the controller?

I'm still not sure if I should get the Move. Motion controls have never interested me but Sony has shown really interesting tech demos leading up to Move's release. It seems really interesting to play shooters with Move and I already have an Eye. Oh, the indecisiveness!

The PS3 is running the game...it's just being displayed on the PSP. That's why it is called remote play. U are remotely playing your PS3 through your PSP.

Free online play
Massive online FPS that has never been done on a console
Console redesign
Bluetooth compatibility so u could use ur headset for something besides ur console
Blu ray which has resulted in better games
Dedicated servers
3D gaming
There may be some things I missed but that's wat I got for the moment

It is an absolute bargain, but imo the original 360 was overpriced as it is...adding 2 USB ports ad wifi couldn't have costed much and when you compare it to the competion rather than to its predecessor it is not a good price at all. Also, aren't all 360 "kinect ready" (as in compatible with kinect?)
Again, this is just my opinion.

On another note. That was a good reply. How do the "bubbles" work. I'm new lol.

It does look better than the original 360 and 2 extra USB ports + built in wifi and a bigger HDD are all nice touches, but I don't think that justifies keeping it at a $300 price tag ($320 if you want to keep your old game saves.)

MS is not a small company like sega that will be forced to exit the industry. With that said, I don't think kinect and an exclusive deal with ESPN is the answer to stopping Sony's momentum. As much as MS wants to advertise it as being a new console, it is not and it definitely doesn't have the potential the PS3 had when it was first released

5695d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

When the PS3 slim was announced, not everyone who wanted a PS3 had one. That was made obvious by the huge increase in sales of the console. The main thing that sold it though was the price drop. Without it,sales wouldn't have risen by much. That is why I don't see this redesign as such a big deal
