I love how people say save money and buy a 360 and a few games.
A 360 and a few games will cost over $600 either way.
If you buy an Elite you pay over $500 and all you get is a bigger hard drive and HDMI
A PS3 you get 60GB worth of space, HDMI, and a Blu-Ray player built in.
With the Elite you get no HD-DVD, and people need to get over the whole gaming system blah blah. These new formats really have made a change in the world of film...

meh, i have Crackdown...and will try the beta out- but expect little from it.
As you can see by these shots, the difference in graphics here is fairly unjustifiable compared to many games out already
beta or no beta...the game is virtually done- beta or final doesnt make enough impact on graphics to change this.

That is so true, Halo is one of the lamer games i have played..all you do is jump around like a little rabbit haha.
I have Crackdown and enjoy it alot. I think that the Halo 3 Beta will hurt some of their sales for sure though. Thats just like how every single demo released on the Marketplace has given me reasons not to blind buy a game.

I am an avid member at AVS forum where this takes place and i own both formats but support Blu-Ray only because its not even a question anymore.
The Blu-Ray people knew about this, and everyone laughed at the idea and that it was stupid.
Whats the point, the sales go up for one day and now they will go back down to barebones like they have.

actually i dont know of one HD DVD release that has LPCM...a handful have Dolby TrueHD but that is it.
let me know because i own both formats and have not found one yet.
Blu Ray has LPCM on just about every disc.
the problem with your comment is that the Lord of the Rings has no been announced for EITHER format yet.
New Line has not decided on which format to go with, but with sales figures lately they will do both or Blu Ray only.
Second of all the Matrix is being released on Blu-Ray later this year. Warner releases on both formats.
So what exactly is your argument as one of those you listed isn't even announced, and the other is coming out on both?

there is really no competition as i see it.
I have both formats, and Blu-Ray has a TON more movies available, and now that both use AVC codec they are both equal in quality.
BD sound is better than HD DVD because BD has LPCM 5.1
The only advantage that i can really see in this is basically getting a new system!
Ive had mine since launch, and eventually it will give me the lights of death. I think its almost like a $200 warranty. A brand new system, 100 GB more space, HDMI option, new controller, headset ect.
For $200 it is borderline in my mind. It will be a tough call and it will depend on if i have $200 to throw down at the time.

I could care less about the companies and how they are doing, as long as they are producing products for me.
As for the kids, i am glad the PS doesnt appeal to the kids as kids ruin the games online 100% They are annoying as hell.
