If they were all rich, they'd buy both systems and all the great games instead of wasting their energy bashing each other over things of preference. So, in a way this entire thread is one about social classes...in theory that is.
Think about it.
If I'm right, then for those attached to their consoles due to financial issues, relax. No investment is perfect, and you're not stupid for buying something that you enjoy. Remember, jealousy is a vicious monster. So is f...
In that they don't emphasize realism. The lighting is perfect, in my opinion, but the models are cartoony somewhat. The result? A game that has plenty of georgeous style. Way to go Insomniac!
I was wondering about how people generally rate graphics on games. Are the ratings in terms of realism, or just how cool they look? I'd give RFOM a 10/10 for coolness and a 8.5 for realism in the graphics department. Anyone agree?
without the fanboyism, that is. Can't fanboys just cheer for some sports team and leave us regular players alone? At least they'd be confined to a stadium and either destroy each other through riots or be sent to prisons.
Oops. I hope I didn't start a fanboy-hunt.
Isn't the PS3 using a multi-core Vector processor, and the 360 uses a multi-core Scalar processor? If true, this explains why some of you don't understand what you're talking about.
We're dealing with two different archetypes, which means two different schools of computing. Therefor, the only ground-facts we can all agree on are ones based on observations, not specifications written on paper.
So, for now we're going to have to judge the PS3's tech when it arrives...
I was busy looking for all the USB ports, and was pleased to find that they're, in fact, hidden under a cover.
That's pretty much the only value of this video.
Rating: Lamer than a lame duck, and this joke.
I'm not surprised about his statement. That's generally what all competitors in business do; they make arrogant remarks about their company and others.
Remember, it's not just business at work here. It's politics. Kutaragi has to convince investors to stick with Sony, otherwise they'd sell their stock and Sony would be in HUGE financial trouble, causing a snow-ball effect that will cause other investors to dump their stock too.
So, while his comments are are stu...
I'm not criticising Nintendo, I'm emphasizing it! Regardless of what Moore says, or what you say, Nintendo is a competitor fighting for the interest of the common consumer like you and I. Believe it. They're a corporation, just like Sony and Microsoft. None of them is a savior of any sort. It's business.
What I'm saying is that because the Wii is so attractive in its price, there's reason to believe that its introduction in the market will detract the sales of the 360. We can at le...
If any fanboy believes that their own brand should crush the competition and be the only one left standing, they're digging their own grave for gaming goodness. The greatest reason why we enjoy either/or/both products is because of the myriad of qualities they have that are geared toward us, the consumer.
Some of you seem to want your brand to become a monopoly, thinking that it's a good thing. Why? Are you hoping that if you are loyal you'll be rewarded with a country?
Richie, Richie, Richie. If you're so against "Trojan Horses" then I guess you're against Sony-built DVD players that are common throughout the states. In fact, you shouldn't even be playing DVDs because they were injected into the market via the PS2.
For what you say, your bubble should be rubbed off.
There are plenty of reasonable people here who own a 360 yet have not fallen to the level of a fanatic like some others. I salute you guys.
For the fanatics, continue on. Seriously, I don't mind at all. If you want to be loyal to a corporation, go ahead. I won't complain when you buy that faulty product because you thought it was superior to the others, because it came from YOUR brand. Again, what you do with your money is not interesting to me in this case.
I and the ot...
Unless Microsoft intends to buy Nintendo for all its worth, Moore is insulting the more intelligent lot of us when he pretends to side with Nintendo. Nintendo is a competitor, and since it's introduction into the market will possibily detract the sales of the 360, Microsoft has every reason to squish this company.
Now, if Moore and Microsoft were like me in that I praise competition for the sake of competition, then I want them to do this. Give Nintendo a good chunk of financia...
Remember that it was designed to subjugate the loopholes found inside the Windows OS (because it is an automatic-process sytem), which Linux does not have (because it's mostly manual, under your control).
Oh, and when you're at a loss to explain why so much junk gets automatically installed in your computer so that it runs off the background, sucking up precious RAM, remember Microsoft.
Yeah, I hate monopolies. You will too.
So that I can experience the thrill of runing from an enraged rhino, only to be squished into jelly in an ultra-realistic rashion.
Afrika. The journey awaits you!
The real question is whether or not the games will utilize excellent textures, or lesser ones to makeup for the boost in resolution.
By what I've seen in some PS3 games like Lair, 1080p with wonderful textures is possible along with a good frame-rate. I have yet to see that simulated in the 360.
Of course, we will still but heads about this beacause not all of us have HD television to begin with, so comparing the two consoles resolutions would be impossible. 720 ...
Some of you forget that Sony and Microsoft sell other products beside consoles. In particular, Sony is planning to sell Blu Ray players and cds, so this slash in pricing is not without reason. The more Blu Ray players penetrating the market through the PS3, the better overall in the sale of Blu Ray products. Likewise, Microsoft is beginning to push their own HD-DVD addon for the 360.
Also, the price/slash only applies to Japan. Europe and the U.S. will pay the full price, and m...
Everything here reacts to physics perfectly as far as I've seen. Oh, and the lighting is perfect too (it always seems as if these PS3 games excell in lighting). I can't wait for this game to be released.
Nevertheless, I contend that both 360 and PS3 are great systems. But the PS3 is starting to look like the better choice.
yet they're there anyway. Why? Because we WANT them. Wanting and needing are two different things; don't mix them together.
(crosses fingers) Let her not be pre-rendered! PLEASE!
I've seen the addon for the 360 being priced at 200$, which is nice and all except that when combined with the system's price it amounts to a total of 600$ for the standard system and 700$ for the premium system.
And Sony's premium system will have Blu Ray and all the other goodies for 600$.
Microsoft should dump this addon, in my opinion, since it would enhance the customer's perception of the PS3 as a better priced Game/High-Def Movie player.

People tend to choose sides instead of reviewing games without bias.
Ah, the Timespitters series. I am still hooked on it, especially with the map editor! The best map I have is one I made to resemble a boxing-ring, with two floors of "seating" for the audience. It remains as the best (and biggest lag) map I have ever made.
Hey! I'm still waiting for next-gen games that let me mod, edit, or create my own stuff in them. With blue-ray and a 60 gig hard-dr...
