It's not a good Metroid game though and the controls were wonky. The great thing about the Metroid games is the sense of isolation and exploring a once populated planet on your own and learning about their demise (if you know where to look).
Having the federation and that Captain constantly talking to you ruined that sense of isolation that is caracteristic of the franchise. Oh and the fact that you couldn't move in 1st person... yeah.
A new Metroid from Retro would clean the stain that is Other M from our memories. Way to ruin a perfect track record...
I didn't like how the combat was less varied than the previous 2 Primes, but it was still a fantastic game. It still amazes me how a game without dialogue past the first 15 minutes could draw such a cathartic reaction as it did from me. W/e Retro does is gold so just gotta wait for what they got under wraps.

I'd like the game to have a much better level creator than in SSBB. Creating levels reminiscent of other games or even movies and TV would be awesome, just have a sharing and rating system. I'd buy a WiiU for that.

I know I'll get disagrees, but IMO 3D Metroid > 2D Metroid. 2D can never achieve the level of immersion that the Prime series had.You actually felt the isolation. Though 2D had more iconic Bosses (Mother Brain, Kraid and the sort). By the way, when I say 3D Metroid I exclude Other M, that game was just terrible.
