I don't think it's about how they look, it's about getting the same Halo, Gears and Forza over and over and over.
There is very little diversity on the Xbox, I own both a PS4 and an Xbox, I choose to play on my PS4 far more than I do my Xbox purely because there is more choice in games.
People seem to like to forget that they are GAMES consoles. Not resolution consoles.
