I just started a playthrough where I'm acting good, because this is unusual for me.
I'm usually indiscriminate, I kill people just for looking at me wrong, or saying something that I don't like.

I disagree, I have both and do it the opposite way. You should remember opinion isn't fact.
Games don't need to be longer to be good, they need to be longer to justify the payment.
It's not cheap being a gamer and I have to pick and choose the games I buy, so I'm unlikely to purchase a short game, unless it's ridiculously good.

Last week we saw Crackdown (Feb 2007) on Gold and now we have Hitman Absolution (Nov 2012) on Plus, and people honestly believe Gold is better?

It is a strange one but it's the tension of survival, that's about the best way I can explain it maybe someone else could do a better job.
It is a fun game, especially with friends.

San Andreas >> GTA IV, that should never have happened, GTA IV should have been better than SA, sure it was technically better but not nearly as fun.
Are you sure it won't change? With the amount of 180's recently I wouldn't be surprised.
