Great article that fleshes out my own thoughts on Microsoft. As an indie fan with many indie dev friends I've heard repeatedly how difficult it is in dealing with XBLA.
In terms of patching I know of a few games that are great but lack in updates on XBLA. Take Dungeon Defenders for example, on PC is WAY better than on XLBA in terms of updates. Isn't this because it is so costly to patch/update on XBLA. One free one, right?

As much as I love JRPGs,I think I'm starting to like Western RPGs a little more. In a RPG I like character customization (appearance, gender)and there isn't a lot of that in JRPGs. I love them both though!

The combat system is excellent! Worth it.
The button combos are a great addition. You feel accomplished every time you are successful at one. Even if you've done it a hundred times.
So many games I've played are released with tons of bugs which are patched the same day of release or during release week. Magical Drop V online vs was totally broken, which is why I bought it. Works now after a fix but word travels fast on the net.
