To be honest.. God of War 3 graphics isn't as amazing as the story. You get HOOKED.

That's not true. I'm still using my 60 gig launch FAT PS3. It's actually running like like a charm. No problems =]
But about firmware's. You can always downgrade like they do for PSP. & you have a choice to either upgrade or not. But you won't be able to sign in PSN. The only problem I see here is Blu Ray, Not everyone has or can afford a Blu-Ray burner. If this 'Hack' is actually download>burn>play then you would have to buy a computer that can actually handle blu-ray,...
