I'm glad someone mentioned it... I love how people come to N4G to voice outrage at titles.

Pro-tip: Read the article before you disagree with it.

Happy to answer your "questions"

1) The 3D is obnoxious because a fast-paced game with focus on tiny details becomes a little too much visual information. It's overwhelming and unnecessary, plus it drops the frame rate.

2) I'm happy that you enjoy Smash on the 3DS. I do as well. However, if you honestly think that there'll be a 3DS tournament at next year's EVO... then agree to disagree until one of us is proven correct next year I ...

Hey, thanks for the follow up! First of all, my name is Casey, not Ian... not sure where you got Ian from, other than he is another writer on the site.

Second of all, I don't disagree. The world is clearly not ready for what comes next. I think I'm still allowed to be personally upset about that though, and that's what this rant is about.

The pre-order numbers were referenced in the article. Thanks for reading!

This is just my personal opinion, it's fine if you don't disagree but this mentality of "your opinion is wrong" it a little ridiculous. An opinion can't be wrong, it's a personal statement.

Guess which point you didn't follow up on either? You just posted a list of Dancing/Sports titles. No clue why you can't just admit you hadn't read the article by the time you posted that first comment... LOL

I love how the article specifically states that the console needs more than just dance and sports games, and then you listed a bunch of dance and sports titles in its defense. Well read cgoodno.

To answer your question: No, I did not buy a PSP. The only game that interested me was Peacewalker, and eventually came to PS3.

The portable games that I do play are generally on either my DS/3DS or iPhone these days, but my history goes back as far as the original Gameboy, though growing us as a Sega fan I'd still say I got the most enjoyment out of my Sega Gamegear (which was insanely awesome with the TV receiver).

I'm not sure consistency is a requirement for opinion writing? They are personal opinions of my time with the console, what other people think is kind of irrelevant to my own experience?

As the author of the article, I think that makes me the only person qualified to say you've missed the point when it's been missed.

I'm open to critism when it's constructive, I think you can look to my history on Shogun and even here on N4G as proof of that. You're not really heading down that path though. You're simply harping on a singular point, which isn't actually what the article was about, over and over...

You clearly did not understand the opinion being stated if you've once more come back to state opposition against an argument that was never made.

The money that Microsoft makes from Xbox Live is funneled back into the creative team that makes the changes to the services. - I wasn't saying Xbox Live is where Microsoft makes all of their money, no one would make that claim. The article is an opinion piece that notes the fact that because Xbox Live has an active commun...

If you thought the point of the article was to say that Xbox Live provides better voice chat than PSN you missed the entire point of the article.

The point that is being made is that Xbox gamers have been paying for the same services that other console fans have been getting for free as an investiment into the future of their console.

Because Xbox Live carries a price-tag with it when other's provide the service for free, Microsoft has the bankroll (and...

First of all: No worries about coming in here to talk about the review. I like the back and forth, and it's a big reason why I fell in love with the industry. Generally speaking there's a better atmosphere for open discussion and intelligent conversation among gamers, and specifically here on N4G.

To your offering of three potential options, yes, I would say that number one is the absolute most likely scenario. I believe that all reviews are, and can only ever be, op...

@Venox2008 - Just a quick add to your point of "4s being unplayable" that's a problem with how the industry, or maybe just personal perceptions, of how a score of 1 to 10 works.

4 is just below average for Shogun Gamer, which I think is fair for this. It's not saying "OMFG this is the worst piece of trash since Superman 64" it's saying that it's below average.

I always recommend people check into what the number actually me...

I'm fine with people disagreeing with the score, but I'm not the only one out there that felt this title fell flat. Saying that I don't "understand" the game is a little silly. I've been a fan of the franchise since the SNES title, played and loved (almost) all of the games.

The fact of the mater is that the game used to provide a challenge, the SNES, N64, Gamecube and DS versions required a bit of skill to complete challenges/compete. The game is be...

@Drake117 / @schlanz : Not sure how this became a Skyrim vs. Skyward Sword debate... I'd like to say I enjoyed both games thoroughly, and don't think comparing one game to the other is the proper way to promote the appeal of either, at the end of the day they are both VERY different games even if the both fall under the genre title of "RPG."

@Drake117 : To rate a game based on the first temple and complain publicly about it being a poor game seems a little r...

"Last Zelda" implying Spirit Tracks for the DS, or last game on the Wii, Twilight Princess? Because if you think Skyward Sword fails compared to Twilight Princess I'd be very curious to hear why? (Though comparison to either would be interesting actually)

Out of curiosity, was the review actually read? 'Cause I feel like those technical issues that were mentioned are kind of a valid reason for docking a couple of points...

The score is still a solid one, but I think we need to be a little more honest with technical issues being a problem with video games at launch.

Yes "he" does, you might have noticed the story was tagged as "Night Springs" as well. Alan Wake 2 is just what everyone was calling it when the teaser image was posted with. Thanks for the heads up though! ;)
