why can't you compare the games? so what ones first person ones third. their both shooters, they both have you shooting aliens, their both coming out right on top of each other, and they are two of the most anticipated shooters to come out for their systems.
and i wouldn't say that the fans of these titles already owns that system. i would say that gears fans already own a 360 because gears was not a launch title. and it was hyped to all hell.

no your not the only one. i think this looks like the most boring game of all time. sure it's pretty. and i'm quite sure it is going to be an epic scale. but come on man show me something that makes me want to play this game.

it's not even fair to compare LBP. thats not even a regular game.
it's so much more than that. it has the potential to sell a ton of systems. and easily be the best selling game for the ps3. and in the long run one of the best selling games of all time. i think it well be remembered as one of the most important games of all time. at the top of the gaming world you well see MARIO, LINK, MASTER CHIEF, SOLID SNAKE, LARA CROFT, and, SACK BOY.

and i'm pretty sure sony can figure out how it was done and fix it via firmware updates.
if we're all so into sales then what we should be wondering is what game is going to sale more consoles?

i can't argue with your comment. all i can say is nobody really expected MGS4 to outsell halo. i think it's pretty widely agreed on that mgs4 was a much better game.
the same will happen with R2. it well win all the gears vs. R2 comparisons. but it will get outsold. 360 owners buy anything. i just left a picnic and the guy had 29 360 games. yea i said 29. and in there was some of the worst games ever. he had the collectors edition two worlds. lol.

i'll take LBP, r2, motor storm, socom.
over all of those weaker titles.
lbp and R2 alone well be better than all the 360 "exclusives"
will gears outsell R2? yes.
will R2 sell well? yes.
do sells represent quality? no.
do 360 owners buy just about anything? yes.
is there about a 99 percent chance that R2 is going to be the much better game? yes.
is insomniac one of the top 3 american developers in the industry right now? yes
do i like asking myself question, and then answering them? yes.
it looks good. and i hope the gameplay is good. i'm getting it because i love these kind of games.
but lets not get ahead of ourself here. it's nowhere near uncharted, graphically. i hope the shooting is as good as uncharted.
