They should take more than 1 year. They need a whole new engine. One made for the next gen of shooters. This CoD2 engine is fucking dated as hell.
It was actually pretty well done. It had a nice dry sense of satire that really stuck the CoD series in key points.
@ChrisW, the cheapest Activision has ever cut a CoD game on Steam is $30. CoD 4 didn't even get a price cut during the holiday sales. And MW2 was 30 or 40.....

So, you lost interest because you can't play the non-existent mods for the game on launch day. You just blew my F'ing mind. If the game isn't out, how could there be mods, or how could anyone even be familiar enough with the engine to start developing a mod?
Well, it'd have to be mods made specifically for the consoles. Considering this won't be the same game on PC and Consoles. for instance, if a PC game mod is like PR and supports 64 player matches on PC, it wouldn't work well with only 24 on Console. 24 players isn't enough to run a server for PR.
Compared to mid-high end PC, all the consoles need a renewal. Lower than 720p and even 720p are very sad resolutions to say tech is much cheaper nowadays. A basic PC with a 9800 can play most games on high at 1080p. A card that is less than $120 can do that. If you have a PC made within the last 2-3 years. You can have a next gen system.
