Yea ending was rushed and game was unfinished. I was expecting to head from the last town to the Authority main hub. Some utopia/one world dictatorship. I imagined it clean, sparkling, a stark contrast to the dying world outside where citizens pretend everythings fine. I wanted to sneak in, sabatoge it, and then have that last awesome level. Instead we got a mission with a 10 second ending cutscene that popped up in the middle of the stage (at least it felt that way).

Idk i think every gen has its game that sets the tone and trend. On snes/genesis it was 2d platformers. On n64 it was 3d platformers. On psx it was jrpgs. On ps2 it was GTA/open world games. This gen its the fps. This is due to technology. On n64 3d platformers blew us away. On psx jrpgs did the same. On ps2 gta 3 was the first realistic massive open world game. It was good and bad to me. Great platforming as always, beautiful graphics and art style, good music, and i liked healing the land. On the other hand i hated the combat. Not the combat really but how it was in a ring instead of enemies spread out or placed in certain areas they would just pop up and you couldnt avoid them or leave until you beat them. Thats one thing i hate its combat arenas. If there were normal enemies and some cooler bosses it wouldve been perfect.
Saw this demo in Best Buy. Some little girl was playing over and over. My first thought was to push her aside and grab the controller (picture Will Ferrel in Old School pushing kids out of the way) but luckily cooler heads prevailed. I just told her her mom left her there and BLAMO she left asap. I did get some dirty looks but who cares? I tought that little ginger not to get between me and my console. Too hardcore? Have you played some of the nes and snes games? Kid Icarus Uprising is hard as shit, F-zero is one of the most hardcore racers, theres tons of super hard games on Nin systems. Dark games have plenty also.
Got it for 15 on black friday. Pretty good game so far. Havnt gotten back to it between the other new ones i got. Playing Pandoras Tower now and man does this game rock. Ha that Ico magic so few games have.
Idk tried to play it but its really boring imo. I absolutely LOVED Back to the Future though so its not the genre. The story didnt suit the genre and it just didnt grab me. Def not better than Journey, AC3 and others though.

Both Souls games had checkpoints. DS had archstone stuff with the sword in 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 exc. DkS had the bonfires which people bitched about until they acually played it. I say trust them as theyve done right by us so far. If they casualize it then we'll go from there.
