The best thing Sony has going for them (as far as PlayStation goes) is consumer confidence. Sega lost it, Atari lost it even the industry itself lost it and was almost destroyed.

It seems like Sony starts every gen slow as far as games, the first year of the PS2 it was a really cheap DVD player. When they do get rolling though no one tops them.

It's worth getting on PC if you have a rig that can run it properly.
This is exactly how last gen started, Microsoft came out on fire but as time went on they slowed to a crawl. I'm not sure if they have the studios to keep up this pace though and most of Sony's big guns have not yet released their games yet.
I'm a big fan of PlayStation, aside from that I do not own any Sony products. Same goes for Microsoft. My computer is Linux, phone is Android and tablet is a Kindle.
