Honestly i could believe the 360 install base is 24.5 million. For a console with such a supposed "huge" lead we only see it outsell PS3 multiplats by thousands rather than millions and they tend to be the USA centric games like FPS, US sports, UFC etc.

Whats more interesting is that this years big high rated mulitiplats with a worldwide appeal like Batman:AA, RE5, and SF4 have all sold more on the PS3, now im no mathematician but if sony is at 27 million and 360 is at...

Lol so far all the Majority of the big Multiplats this year go to PS3 for sales and even when the 360 beats the ps3 in muliplat sales its purely down to the install base lead and not because 360 owners buy more games.

You make a good point, obviously in terms of shipped to retail numbers MS would count those 1 million bricked consoles. I was referring more to number of 360's in peoples homes rather than number of 360's sold/shipped, but you and i both know microsoft would never differentiate those two categories.

id rather have a AAA exclusive in every genre then a AA exclusive (but hyped to death) at best in one genre. But hey the 360's whole existence is based on Halo. The day people get fed up with Halo is the day MS leave the industry.

If Microsoft are knowingly going to brick 1 million consoles surely that number should be deducted from the install base numbers meaning even if they all buy a 360 again the 360 gains no lead.

I think the console sales will be pretty close in the next couple of months.... in the US that is. Remember this little game called Final Fantasy 13 comes out for japan in December, expect massive PS3 sales over there which will subsidize for the US numbers over the holiday.
