Not to mention FF14 coming to PS3 and PS4 on top of reenvisioning the PC version
ANY upgrade is significant, and it shows that they might be able to upclock again in the future, but as it stands now this only raised the performance to ~1.3 TFlops. If the PS4 made a similar overclock however, the performance could get into the 2.2-2.4 TFlop range.
Infiltrator was a tech demo, at least we know Deep Down is a real game
The demo was actually built using weaker specs than PS4(and Xbone for that matter), so expect it to look better than this
I wouldn't get your hopes up for 2014, more likely is 2015/2016
Richard "eSRAM bandwidth now up by 88% due to processing cycle "holes" Leadbetter strikes again
I mean, seriously. If you're a video games journalist there is no reason why you should suck that bad, or ask stupid, irrelevant questions.
I'll wait until it comes out on PS+. All the people from Kotaku previewing these games are awful. That Killzone video from yesterday was hard to watch.
Is it just me or did the graphics in this trailer look worse than the ones previously released? Either way this looks like it will be a fun game. AC3 wasn't bad, but it got boring after a while. Hopefully they rectified those issues for AC4
Not to mention 12GB of GDDR6 would probably cost as much as the XBONE does now. Units should have already started small-scale production if they want to be out by November.
Great interview. I'm looking forward to picking this up when it comes out. W1 wasn't that great but W2 definitely sold me on the universe. I can't even imagine what this game will be like open world.
"PC rarely uses more than 2GB of video memory"
I see that argument a lot and I don't think many people realize why that is. PC games for the most part have been ports from consoles with less than 512MB memory for the past 8 years. We're going to start seeing games that use 5-7GB of RAM, 8 CPU thread, and GPU compute since that will be the lowest denominator going forward. We won't need monster CPUs anymore to run our games since most of the tasks will be...
Infamous is probably slated for Q1 2014, so it will come out anytime before April 1st
Honestly this guy needs to shut up until he finds himself a job.
OT: I'm pretty sure he's talking about GTAV. The game's been in development for years and is most likely their most ambitious game yet. I would not be surprised if it had a budget well over most of the titles released this gen.
Yeah people tend to forget that they accidentally let the ops/cycle figure slip during the post-reveal roundtable, effectively confirming the 1.2x TFlop figure that was rumored
There was a pretty bad one when I was playing a few weeks back. A quest was broken so that only one person could access it at any time and there was an actual line of people waiting to get to it
Going back to February they never once mentioned any kind of DRM and said it would be similar to the PS3. People overeacted and forced Sony to have to spell it out for everyone.
TH made an out of context assumption based of his quote most likely just to get hits. Andy House and Adam Boyes both said they never even considered what M$ were doing and that the Twitter campaign made them realize that something had to be said.
I was in a gamestop the friday of E3 and all 64 preorders for PS4 had already been slotted, but only half of 11 XBONE were taken
This all comes down to money. Journalists wouldn't dare criticize a big game from a large publisher because they help pay the bills. However, journalists won't hold back when referring to indie devs who can't black them out from previewing/reviewing games so they will end up trashing them if they feel like it.
Add this to the hivemind of the internet and everything gets blown out of proportion like the Phil Fish BS last week.
