As with practically every other gamer, I'm overwhelmed with the number of top class titles on offer at the moment. LBP is a must buy, but so is COD5, so is Midnight Club LA, so is either FIFA or PES 09, Resistance 2, Fallout 3, etc etc... (so was Farcry 2 until I got it home... man, that game sucks).
LittleBigPlanet will sell well. It'll sell lots of Christmas units and it'll continue to grow in the new year. It's just a busy, busy time for new releases.
I was pretty disappointed by this game (FC2) and will definitely be looking to return it...
Could you please take your hateful rhetoric elsewhere?
You know... everyone has to start somewhere.
I tried the PC demo yesterday (is there a PS3 one?) and it was really bad. I'm pretty disappointed, actually, as I thought the game would be pretty good.
Looks like someone has gone through and hit Disagree on pretty much every comment. Which is great because I always thought that was the funniest and most interesting way of joining the debate. Whoever you are, mass disagreer, you're my hero.
No one with any sense thought GTA:IV would be PS3 only. I think you're confusing exclusivity with DLC.
"everything he said was fact, heck they were quotes!" sorry, but just because someone said something doesn't make it a fact. Anyway, the points were not particularly salient and they were, as I said before, so poorly expressed as to render them unreadable.
As to the 'fanboy' thing, I'm with you: obviously, all the systems have their own problems. People shouldn't be afraid of admitting that.
"One of the features of the Sony Playstation PS3, over it’s short life, has been the inconsistent and misleading messages coming from senior Sony management." - this was so poorly written that I didn't bother with the rest.
...is important in loads of great games. Otherwise it's just mindless violence. If you've ever tried to play GTA without bothering with the story missions, you'll see how quickly that becomes very boring.
There sho8uld be more games with great story lines, not fewer.
The system is actually selling rather well. At least, if you compare it to the xbox.
It sounds to me like you're labouring under the idea that PS3 and xbox 360 have many significant differences. When it comes to games they share a large part of their catalogues. When it comes to other features, most people would agree that PS3 is ahead... but it costs more.
I advise that rather than mouthing off and sounding like a child, give both systems a real go and you'll see ho...
- Unfortunately, this happens all to often.
Good post, BTW. Apparently console gaming is one of the only tech sectors still unscathed by the economic downturn, and as you say: PC gaming is riddled with piracy (as well as the ubiquitous configuration nightmare).
Added to that, people like to buy boxes to plug in to their TV. Sony could release a TV that has PS3 inside it but why bother? They'd only be cutting their own profits. Branding and sales demand that consoles ...
Glad that this article wasn't approved... it's very poorly written and absolutely riddled with cliché (as well as the fact that it's obviously bait).
I may be a dropout but I'm certainly not illiterate. Which was the last book you read, Señor Kojima?
the Wii's not exactly of this generation, is it? I mean it came out around the same time but it's really a very different product to xbox360 and PS3. Plus, the long-awaited Mario Kart Wii has been quite a let-down, according to friends who have it.
...actually, I disagree. CNET's reviews aren't that hot and I often pick up more than a whiff of interest in the way they often push particular products. Actually, I work in the same industry and CNET is not that well regarded when it comes to quality of writing and editorial independence.
What happened at Gamespot last year (the whole incident was apparently a part of CNET's policy of 'shaping content' to appease advertisers), is enough evidence for me that they are not a reliab...
...I am a happy PS3 owner. Just sick of the constant delays.
Don't make them angry!
But it will probably be delayed by 18 months.
Don't know why, but it sounded much more Le Carré than Boogie Nights to me. Well, actually maybe that's because I love the 1970s spy novels of Le Carré. I saw 'paranoid journey' 'counter-intelligence' and 'height of the cold war' - this sounds like pure Le Carré (though his books would likely be a little too complex and slow moving to make into a really popular game).
Anyway, it's truly exciting news: travelling the world from dour eastern European/Soviet tower blo...
