What an Epic Fail of a price drop. This is hilarious. Even at 299 the PS3 is still a better value than the 299 Elite. Hmmm Blu-Ray sounds nice now doesn't it?
What are you talking about? The 360 got a HUGE boost of sales from their price drop last year before the holidays.
The slim is as ugly as burnt turds though. Do yourself a favor and go get one of the last 80gigs while you can. Seriously who is with me on this? The old design is way more sexy?
We are in a recession though dude. 200k would be pretty good for a console that is selling about 120k per month as of now.
Finally we are about to really see how the 360 and PS3 do against each other. They are pretty much now equalized in price. So the next 4-5 months should be very revealing. I am going to have to bank on MS though. Sony is going to beat them this X-mas but once Natal hits, bye bye PS3.
PS3 looks better. The 360 has some issue with the lighting. Its too damn dark. Round one goes to PS3.
I must admit as a PS3 only gamer I am jealous. Makes me want to get a 360.
Gabe should realize that PS3 is a big system. I mean there are over 20 million systems sold. So maybe hiring some people with development experience would be a good investment. Unless Valve is too cheap to expand their workforce.
I think that lots of people may own a nice PC for gaming. But that comment tried to make a generalization that all PS3 owners own a gaming PC (or at least most) this is just simply false.

Not a bad theory there. But I just don't see Sony ever making PS3 backwards compatible. I think in the end they just want people to pay to re-download PS2 games.

Can't you already get Bioshock and Oblivion for cheaper than $30 in a bundle? Either way if you are a 360 owner and you haven't played this game yet, then shame on you! I only have PS3 so I have an excuse for not playing it until recently.
