Admittedly, just like the writer of this article, I've yet to play Red Dead Redemption 2, so I can not make any case for that game. I think that he was speaking more in general terms. I have seen articles on how to change the settings in game to make it play better, so there must be an issue there, but... I personally would not equate poor mechanics with boredom. Does it play like the first Red Dead Redemption? I didn't have any issues with that game that I remember.
I do understand what you are saying, but... Have you played What Remains of Edith Finch? That is a fantastic game, but there is not really a lot of what you would traditionally think of as gameplay. If you put that game up against the chaotic fun of say Doom some people may call it boring. I wouldn't as I was fully engaged with the story. Would I call it fun?... Probably not. Descriptors like intriguing, interesting, and thought provoking would be better suited. I don't feel like a ga...
Damn it! Lol. I actually tried to go back and edit that post later thinking that may be the case, but they put that stupid time limit on editing.
Yep... Made an ass of myself.
I've been gaming since 78 as well... Never use the term bestie. We're middle aged men, not high school girls. For shame.
Very good read.
From the article, "Regardless, games should be judged by their intent and how well they achieve that. Would you judge a movie like Superbad by the same standards you’d use to judge 2001: A Space Odyssey? Would you judge Bad Boys using the same criteria as Gone With The Wind or Casablanca? Of course not. Why, then, judge all games as if they belong under the same wing?"
I really enjoyed Limbo and Inside... I'm very interested to see what's next from Playdead.
Cool
Get out of my head. Lol. I was going to say exactly that.
I think many people are missing the point here. It's about the terrible things the dad (who was in the background, not on mic) was saying to his child.
He was shocked by what the dad was saying to his own kid. I would have been too. I would have said something.
The dad was in the room with the kid watching him create a character, and berating him.
I agree with that, but the story was more about how that a-hole was treating his kid.
I RARELY play online, and if I do I mute everyone unless I'm playing with friends.
Well then how do you not understand that the asshat that was yelling profanity at the child couldn't give a shit less about how a mature game would effect him. The game being mature is hardly the point.
Never played with, so I'm in for a treat.
Read the post and you'll understand.
You should read the story crimson. He did not have his kid playing the game. You should never react to the title of the post without reading the entire thing.
Did you not read the story?..
They're sick... I think anyone that enjoys this type of thing should be tracked as a possible pedophile.
I'm with gangsta here. Anyone with eyes can see that the faces on these characters are childlike. They're then shown in sexual situations which is... Well... Disturbing to say the least. Staying that they're not real girls does not change what the the image portrays.
I'm digging it.
