Single-player won't die for a long long time. I think that it will evolve to allow more players in the story via co-op. I won't ever stop playing single player games, I like story driven games. Period.
I think your right, he is a philosopher, he making MGS4 in a time where corporations are fighting wars with each other is very much how the future could turnout. Money rules the world, and war is a good way to make it.

Kojima said that he was very interested in making another MS for PSP. MGS:PO was the best handheld game I've ever played so I really hope they do it. I would love to have a MGS game that centered around the time where 'Naked' Snake defected from FOXHOUND. I really want to know what the last straw was. That would be awesome!!
