Yes Naughty Dog released Uncharted which is one of the top three games on the PS3 but what else have they done? It remains the only game the company has released this generation.
Uncharted 2 looks like it is going to be great but until then they only have one game out. Other developers have done a lot more.
I'm familiar with Sins of a Solar Empire but not much else that StarDock have done.
Today is the last day of the competition. It will end at midnight GMT.
RTS games are progressing on console though. Halo Wars and Civ Revolution work pretty well with controllers.
I had totally forgotten about the existance of the feather powerup.
Also you will go slower if you collect less flowers along the way.
It is just a shame that there is no Platinum Trophy.
The reason Sony gave for removing BC was to save money as they were using a hardware solution. Perhaps though they have big plans in the future for a download service that would make them more money.
I have never played any of the God of War series so I would like the chance to play one of them on my PS3 before the third one comes out.
Not only does competition keep developers on their toes it also helps to keep the cost of consoles and games down. Very important at this time.
Provided they would steer clear of Vista.
I think there will always be a place for Nintendo in the market. I like to play some video games with my wife but she only plays on the Wii. Games like Mario Kart Wii are great fun. You don't get games that appeal to all people on the PS3 or 360.
Hopefully DC Universe will work well on console and become the first great mmorpg on console. Failing that there is a chance the the new KOTOR or Star Trek Online games would work well on either PS3 or 360.
Was something like that attempted with the 3DO machine back in the 90's?
Sony developers hardly copy the 360 to find out how to develop an FPS game. In fact both sets of developers will look to the PC to find out how to make a good FPS game. The best FPS game on either console is COD4 and that released on both 360 and PS3 at the same time.
I agree it would be the best console. But it would be even better if Sony could manage to develop it themselves. I'm sure they can because things always improve with each new generation.
I don't think that the inclusion of a Blu-ray player was a mistake at all. I think it gives the PS3 the edge over the 360.
I had a 360 for 18 months but I got rid of it to get a PS3 and the main reason was the Blu-ray player. I decided I could get mostly the same games on each system but I couldn't watch a film like The Dark Knight in high definition on my 360.
That is a very good point. Maybe Sony would be better off with Apple in that case :-)
I like LarVanian's comment about Motorstorm on the PSP. I haven't heard that possibility before but it would be a great idea.
I see Capcom getting a lot of votes but I don't think they have done that many good games. Street Fighter IV is good but the demo of RE5 was terrible. Other games like Lost Planet and DMC4 were simply okay.
