@Iceman100x

The Playstation 2 has actually sold more units than all other consoles. The Nintendo DS and the Wii both sold less than the Playstation 2. The Playstation 4 is on track to outsell the Wii, which has sold around 101.63 million units. When did the Nintendo DS and Wii surpass “the ps2 easily”?

Third Point is a noun. It is the name of a hedge fund. So saying that “Third point are investors in Sony” is grammatically incorrect. Stating that Green Day are a rock band also doesn’t make sense grammatically. You should say that Green Day *IS* a band. Third point *IS* investing in Sony.

@IRetrouk
That does not change the fact that this is not a presentation by Sony. Sony did not make this presentation. So stating that this is a presentation by Sony is factually incorrect. I did read the presentation. If you read it you would have seen these two quotes:
“The information in this presentation is based on publicly available information about Sony Corporation.”
“Third Point believes the information herein to be reliable, Third Point makes no representa...

@Jamiereleases
This is a blatant lie. This is not a presentation by Sony for shareholders. This is a presentation by a hedgfund named Third Point. Everything in the presentation is speculative. It could be correct, but it could also be incorrect. The presentation also says that Kojima Productions is a first party studio. Maybe do some research before you post nonesense.

You are correct. Those games did sell more than gta as a franchise. I did post a link to back up my claims though. According to the link the gta games sold 225 million. The link could be a bad source. I did not look too far into it. Ill do better next time.

I do not understand why people always compare GTAV sales figures to the Tetris franchise sales figures. One game of tetris did not sell 170 million copies, according to all of the sources I have read. It would make more sense to compare the entire GTA franchise sales figures to the entire Tetris franchise sales figures. The GTA franchise has sold over 225 million copies. This easily beats any other franchise out there. The best selling game can not be considered Tetris since one Tetris game h...

Why do so many writers use plural words instead of singular words when speaking of companies?

2454d ago 5 agree0 disagreeView comment

There is a mistake in the article. In the fourth chunk of words it states:
“According to Hennig, some of the pressures and controversies that happen within the gaming industry stem from this: the scope of games has increased by prices have remained the same, and nobody wants them to go up.”
Instead of the word “by” it should be the word “but.” The rest of the article seems to have no mistakes.

The video you linked was hard to watch. The guy could not stop his vocal fry. Also his points were just silly. You can’t shit all over a whole community just because you see one or more people from that community behaving a certain way. Thats the fallacy of composition. Another thing, the playstation vs xbox “war” has been taken a bit too far. I prefer playstation first party console exclusive games over xbox console exclusive games, but that doesn’t mean ...

Great. I was replying to your initial post when you stated “I feel a bit bad for the motion capture actress. Her nose is big, but it’s not as huge and cartoony as the artist drew it lol!” The motion capture actress was not used as the face model. So I was just going off of your initial post. You were stating something incorrect, so I disagreed in my reply.

@Pasta_spice
You are wrong. The link you shared is not an image of the actress. I don’t know why I have so many dislikes on my initial comment. The actress who plays the character “Dina” is Shannon Woodward. Her nose is rather small, so again: that is not true in the slightest. Her nose (the voice actress) is not large.

The PS4 itself was profitable in its first year and has gradually made more profit as time went on. Sony continues to make money from their sold consoles. In the generation of PS3 and Xbox360, both Microsoft and Sony made a profit on consoles sold later in their respective generations. You are wrong in stating that “Nintendo is still the only concole maker who actually makes money from their sold consoles.” Do some research before you make shit up.

If 7 millon people were to all pay $10 that equals 70 million.
If 2+ million people were to buy the game at $60 that equals 160+ million.
I get your point, but your examples and numbers are only hurting your argument.
