Exactly my point. I mostly focussed on the "Bandwagon haters", the ones who won't play it, but are more than happy to slate it. I love both, and i'm sick of hearing about how "Crap MW3 is" from people who've barely seen it
*Crosses Fingers*
I'm not entirely sure how the destruction works in FB, but logic dictates the mesh would be split in to defined pieces, so once it takes the damage it'd come apart (as the damage isn't dynamic, because there are only set "breakable" parts of the meshes).
Assuming that's the case, and the difference is just the level of "destruction", they could use the same base geometry, before it's had any pointers as to how it should deform (either i...
You're all aware this is common place in games right? If they've already got a building fit for purpose, then why not slap a new skin on it and use it again? Hell, BF3 even uses the same buildings in different maps, and still contains assets from Bad Company and Bad Company 2. When you're populating a map/level, it makes perfect sense to recycle assets because it saves time, and time is something that they're short of on a year to year release schedule
I honestly don't think it'll "Own" anything. By the time it hits its stride, we'll be thinking about the next generation of home consoles, and thus it'll be in that sticky middle ground. 3DS will be outselling it, and it'll be trapped in limbo (exactly what happened to the PSP vs the DS)
We don't have "Zero Support", Orcomma just happens to. I maintain that my favourite console ever is the gameboy, which as you're aware, is a handheld console.
Generalised "I R NEVER CLICK AGAIN" comments are all well and good, but the #firedoor is Orcomma's own (often inflammatory) blog that happens to be hosted on our site. He's a small part of a much bigger and more diverse team. You're welcome to write a rebuttal that we'll host ...
I'd disagree for two reasons.
A) the term "real gamer" no longer applies to anything, as the industry has too many facets.
B) The majority of people who own a handheld lock it away in a cupboard for the better part of the year. It only sees the light of day for a long journey (or the days immediately after a high profile release)
Honestly, I haven't got enough room in my pocket for my Phone, my keys, wallet, a seperate MP3 p...
Sure, that's the case at the moment. In the future, I'm pretty confident we'll see higher speed internet with fewer speed/usage restrictions, built specifically to work with such services as Movie/Games streaming from central servers. Therefore they'll be no real need for you to have a disk right?
I wish they'd just come out and tell us what's going on with this game. They made such a big deal about it originally, and now we're sat in the wilderness waiting to hear something, anything!
I don't think it's an inherent lack of fun - just a lack of creativity. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is good because it's unique in the sense that they've taken a genre, and absolutely made it real - you don't feel like a superhero (like CoD or Halo), you feel like a soldier in a team
Yes Yes, we can all comment on headlines. Literally speaking, it will be released in the future. That's not the point of the article. That'd be like writing an article entitled "Tomorrow is Tuesday" on a monday.
The sad thing on that front is that 2K want to do a sequel. Hopefully they'll take time over it. A borderlands style Duke game would be the perfect solution I think.
I'm embarassed to admit that I did like it. It was old fashioned and in parts, rubbish. I just hope we get a better sequel
Nowhere in the article do I state I'm a fan.
It's nice that you've reviewed the review. If it's not obvious from the actual content of the review, I'll explain it to you. He played an hour, then told me that he wasn't going to review it, as he didn't like the start. I said review it anyway, he said "Right, but it won't be serious", and thusly this happened.
This isn't games journalism - that's elsewhere on our site, this is just an opinion piece in the guise of a review.
I'm glad you felt obliged to tell me that. Thanks x
All of the reviews i've ever written start with a light hearted, almost stream of conciousness based inner dialogue - designed to introduce both the article and the subject to the reader. I defintely wrote it - again, i'd challenge you to try and find this article anywhere else in the universe other than where i've stated
No, I didn't. You can look until you're blue in the face, you'll only find this review here and on my own personal website. I don't really understand the criticism, as this is definitely the first piece of mine you've ever read - I'd question your knowledge of my "own words" because of this.
It's omitted from the review as there's another lad from our website reviewing the co-op side. Once he's submitted that, I'll squeeze the two into a complete review. This was due to time constraints and work patterns - It has been adjusted now however
We didn't review MW3, so we're not justifying anything I'm afraid. Simply offering an opinion - mostly based on the metacritic reviewers and their silly attitudes to games they've never played.
