so does this kind of indicate that there WERE some kind of shortages for the 360 that they're still trying to iron out since there's only a minimal difference in hardware numbers between PS3 and 360?

Consumers aren't supposed to think "OOOH GTA IV IS EXCLUSIVE TO XBOX DUUHHH *DROOL* LOOK AT DE LOOOOOOGOOOOOOO"... They are supposed to see the advertisement, and see "starting at L199" and say "wowz! i can get a 360 to play GTA IV for L199"
Same way US ads of the PS3 end with "starting at $399.99" people see that and go "wow that price is pretty good"
