I heard about the game just the other day, now I´m thinking about Prey, Tool and eXistenZ as well.

Yes, just make sure that you don´t have any actual "real" baseball bats around (the combo of sport games + alcohol + baseball bats = Not good).

It´s hard to say at this time, so perhaps it´s better if you wait until the release of Super Mega Baseball 2?

You know. Even though I have played very little Baseboll games for the last eight years or so, I still think that I would have a blast with this game.
