This is true, which is why it says "price drop promotion" and not an official price drop from MS. It will be back to retail price soon.
Pretty much there's not as many OG Xbox BC titles compared to 360 so it's not possible to do new titles every week. It seems like they want to go with the batches route. I guess it's going to be 13 or so at a time.
Think about this. PS2 classics cost $15, so lets say overtime you buy 10 of these. That's $150 and it's $150 you don't need to spend on the Xbox One X for the OG Xbox classics which are also at a much higher resolution too of 1920p compared to 1080p. The extra cost is worth it on that alone, what about the PS Now subscription if you want PS3 games too? This is coming from a PS4 Pro/XB1X owner too.
Also you are buying a high end premium machine. It's normal ...
It's not upscaled 4K, it's NATIVE 4K. It's hilarious how people try to make any good news about Xbox bad with even more false statements. https://twitter.com/albertp...
How the heck is PS Now better? It's impossible that PS Now is better than what Xbox is offering. If you own the disc, it's free and if you're an Xbox One X owner, you can play them in Native 4K. Tell me the part where PS Now allows you to use your old discs for free and has a resolution of Native 4K?
Nope, just the same on PS4 Pro. Nothing extra.
It's incredible because it also works using original discs. PS2 classics need to be purchased again and only get bumped to 1080p. Near 4K is insane for OG Xbox.
That was a mistake on the writers part, it's been fixed now. The actual article even said " Microsoft also shipped a lower number of Xbox consoles which were also at lower average price compared to the exact same quarter last year."
So it wasn't done on purpose.
It's not MS though or an official price drop. It's price drop promotion from Amazon which won't last long.
