@343_Guilty_Spark Of course they have more than one build...That's how game development works.
@SirJoJo It could be seen as a red flag because with ~4.5 months till they go gold the only stable enough build for their open beta is a pre-alpha build. Does it mean they won't iron our the issues before release no. But going from pre-alpha to gold takes alot of work...
Them having to go back to a "Pre-Alpha build" for their Beta Test could be seen as a red flag in and of itself...
"I can't believe there are so many people in the U.S. who turn their backs on a US company who has done everything they were asked to do, changed their entire strategy for the gamer, and abandoned years of planning to make you happy, delivered top notch exclusives, and tried to innovate a little with Kinect whether it worked or not."
If they had done what gamers asked for in the first place then they would not have had to change their whole strategy... MS turn...
Films have plateaued for awhile now....
You say gaming hasn't but then list either sequels or spiritual successors. The only game on your list that would be something new is Journey and that was released over 4 years ago...
Most likely if they are shooting for 60fps in MP than the OG PS4 will run with less effects/Reso rather than cutting the FPS.
But yes if someone is running at 60fps vs 30fps they will have an advantage
@Neonridr "devs may decide that they don't want to waste their time making two versions. Or they may want to just push for the better version since they can do more."
By that logic developers shouldn't make games for the Xbox 1, it is weaker and the install base for it is ~1/2 of what the PS4 is now.(OG PS4 is going to have a larger install base than NEO for years...)
@Neonridr "Console gamers used to make fun of PC gamers because of the continual need to upgrade"
But if the OG PS4 plays all the games the same as it would have before/after NEO came out why do people NEED to upgrade?
"so when exclusive content does release because devs don't want to waste time and money making 2 different versions"
There isn't some big change in the hardware, its all the same running at slightly ...
Alot of Xbox fans kept saying that MS won E3 last year but it did nothing to help their sales. Even if they "win" again this year, why would it have a different result.
I just don't see MS having any blockbusters we haven't heard about yet that will release this year.
@mark_parch Why do you need to switch? Just pick up a PS4 to go along with your One
Your right Xbox sales are great, MS just can't keep their mouth shut about how well its selling...
Also 1 programmer on the whole team?
If they only have bad news to say they usually say nothing
@ThePUMPER Flop is used to describe sales numbers...If Infamous flopped at close to 3M sales and Killzone at ~2.5m then every Xbox 1 game besides Halo 5, Halo:MCC, and Titanfall flopped.
A good list. I would have went a little different but at least with this list I have their permission to die.
@sammarshall102 "are on another level"
Ya a lower level...
"the slim model;s usually come out later"
3 Years in the US btw PS3 and PS3 slim
"if that's the case and this new model gets better parts and is cheaper for the consumer then that's great."
Or if its the same price with better parts that would be great too, right?
Umm as time goes forward you can replace certain parts with better and smaller parts at a lower price. That is why slim models exist. People get a slightly better system and the company makes more money while selling it at a better price...
Your saying you don't want RDR Online?
@Kiwi66 What risks has MS taken on the first party side of things?
@Eonjay Yes I agree that is the best ending if you have issues...Seek help before its too late
@SirJoJo "In the case of gears 4, Coalition have been very vocal on quite a few outlets to let players know that this is a true beta, do not expect bells and whistles, that will come later."
The point I think people are trying to make is just being open doesn't mean they will be able fix all the issues by release date.
A "open beta test" testing pre-alpha code is really an "open alpha test". What people are worried about ...
