I hope so with at least PS4/PS2/PS1 games fully supporting every digital title " physical for PS4 as well"
and later on PS5 cycle they should start supporting at least first party titles that did not get a HD/RM etc treatments.
I hoped sony would at least allowed PS1/PS2 digital backward for classics.
And be honest with us instead of forcing pushing PSn$w as the only option.

I hope both PS5 'n new Xbox will have these powerful CPUs or even more powerful ones
it will give for both a great jump in next gen gaming/graphic etc
And easier Backward support.

ofc as always, everything is happening by a number few pps at the high officer - aka some shareholders 'n a few others controlling things 'n making most of the rest to suffer.
Blizzard is not the one doing the cutting costs by itself.
It is activision's doing - they cut things 'n then demands blizzard to do the RP 'n face backlashes etc.
Activision is EA 2.0 murdering blizzard same like EA murdering some studios ... why ? cos they do not want to face a competition from a gamers-first studios /companies/developers.
Indeed BC at least for all Digital PSN PS1/PS2 games, there is Zero reason why not to support them already
Sony need to improve the external support for HDD and make more flexible. As in we need to be able to COPY " not only MOVE " games to an external HDD in order to have an extra copy of a game/ some games in case of we lose/get formatted so that we will not need to redownload the whole update/games again.

and true it is more support to old games will encourage more pps to drop old hardware/store them away 'n get a PS4 and enjoy their classics better
IF sony had allowed Backward support to PS1/PS2 games classes 'n adds more of them instead of costly/risky PSnow
it would have passed 100+ mil sales even in 4 years or less.
I know they added a support for updated PS2 games with trophies 'n still they did not support it fully
even sometimes with no plat-trophies to encourage some plat/trophies hunters to buy them at least.

The problems with vita were the following
SD cards .......
no multi-users " I want to play/enjoy other contents from other countries like classic spyro/crash " but I am locked to one account .... unlike the PS3 at that time or PS4
Weak Hardwares, yes it was a jump from PSP but it was not enough vs the phones/tablet market.

This is why I very rarely make any type of pre-order 'n if I do ... I do it when a week or so left before the release 'n even wait for embargo sometimes
They can fix 50% of this problem by giving the players who have reached max current lvls an expanded option to buy more heirlooms in all of their gear slots 'n even option to buy an upgrade for them to make it powerful enough to be better than any loot till they reach max lvl with their next alt - after all - it is optional faster leveling for alts .. not mains and not meant to compete at anything due to end game only at max lvl.

it was the bad RP 'n the secretly locking of fornite accounts from behind the players.
They can have a pass "Sony" by not allowing Cross-Play with some others .. but never lock the accounts 'n allow the players to resume their progress else were.
This is what I love about current Backward.
If MS keeps supporting more and more even BC for Original/360/Xbox one at next gen - then nothing to worry about anymore " other than missing a chance to buy a game before it is done from the store.

Not everyone can keep old consoles.
Some, might not have any in the first place.
BC is a must on every new generation of console, I see no reason why not.
Look at PCs, u can run a 90s old game on a recent high end Desktop/laptop.
PS now ? with current licenses limitations and slow speeds of global internet ?
PS now will not be an ideal option - not on 2~20 years from now.
Unless a global breakthrough happens with connections and licenses.
While, it is true, I could see a great future if PS now does an success - .... think about playing from anywhere with anything, just stream. it.
