Well it's true, the original Saints Row was for the most part a GTA clone.

I think the answer to that is the fact that FF7 is most gamer's introduction to an FF game, at least many people from the generation today that does these articles on web sites.

I don't think a remake will bring fan's confidence in SE back. To gain confidence they have to show they can create the "new" without making it terrible.
