I must be getting old, I thought this kid was joking... "brilliant piece of satirical penmanship, old boy!" I said to myself.
Why would a hardcore gamer be watching nick???
The problem that many gamers have with the Wii was not the graphics (with exception to the gamers brought in by COD) but the fact that its game library was just plain mediocre. The Wii has more power than the PS2 and Xbox 360, yet the library rarely (imho) generated excitement or felt as lovingly crafted as Halo, GTA, MGS3, FFXII, RE4 etc etc. Sure there were some great titles, although my favorite was Zelda... and it was designed for the cube. The new Goldeneye was nice, but it didn't of...
This is actually a really sad comparison in terms of specs. It will be able to take advantage of the end of current generation tech but considering the fact that PC games are already beginning to pull away from the current crop of consoles the Wii 2 will look dated rather quickly. The second we start getting a taste of the next offering from Microsoft and Sony people will quickly see how inferior the Wii is from a technological standpoint.
That being said the key is always w...
This made me sick to my stomach... honestly this is just one more trend among developers that makes shelving gaming almost wholesale a real possibility to me. The developers at DICE above all (with the exception of Bethesda) should realize the value of a modding community. Heck I bought Battlefield 2 in 2011 just to be able to play FH2 and Project Reality. Has the increasing complexity of the engines likely taken a toll... yes. However it is really sad that developers use this excuse to shut ...
I have been reading this comment thread along with several others in the links and that rational people are all correct, this hurts much more than Sony. My favorite comments come from those who claim to be part of the hacker community... the sense of invincibility and power they have is amusing. I have no doubt that they are capabe of doing lots of damage. However they do not seem to or do not want to grasp the vast amount of people hurt by their actions. If anything, we as gamers have the le...
I am 99% sure it is not real. Its great art, don't get me wrong, but much of it is wrong. If it was the third Normandy it would be Normandy SR3 (not Normandy 3). The N3 in the engine room makes no sense, nor does the large N7 in the captain's cabin. Also I am pretty sure the artist stated it was fan art.
I think abandoning 3D is a little premature. The problem is simply that the hardware on consoles is inadequate and the investment on PC requires quite a large upgrade. I have found aspects of 3D very impressive, for example aiming down iron sights. However, at least for PS3, the downgrade in visual quality simply overshadows any of the cool factor that might be had from 3D.
PC is a different story. The visuals can be quite impressive, but the upgrade is expensive, even if yo...
