It's safe to do the update. Switching the power off causes no problems at all, just rest mode. If you do enter rest mode an alternative to unplugging your PS4 is to just hold the power button for 10 secs until you hear a beep and it will start back up.
IMO it was one of the most enjoyable FPS I've ever played. Even without multiplayer.

I love the hell out of my Vita, but real triggers and clickable analog sticks would make it so much better.

I gotta say, I'm really having a great time playing through this. It may not be all that graphics wise, but IMO it's one of the best FPS I've ever played. So much fun.
