What about the "Corqette?!?!"
Pin, R* had been stress testing this through their closed beta for months. It's very naive of them to think they wouldn't have millions of users want to get online and play this mode. I think they poorly planned this initial launch, which btw, was delayed 2 weeks after the actual release of the game itself. I understand server issues and disconnects when a game first comes out, but to experience what you and I both have so far, that's inexcusable. I don't remember another game...
Very Interesting... I love Fable, and without good ol' Molyneux, it could be a very different game.

Gasian, competition always brings out the best for the consumers. Unfortunately with cable companies, it all comes down to the local governments and who they license to be in their local market.

Currently, this is for Xbox only. If I hear anything different, I'll be sure to update the article and add that.

Pills, soon you will be able to use your xbox as a dedicated set-top box to watch live streaming tv. Couple that with HBO Go and ESPN, and you've got all the best channels, saving yourself $10 a month on that fee.
Jason
king, unfortunately you have set packages that the studios and cable/satellite providers agree upon to carry their channels. It's the times we live in! For those who don't have much of a choice, that also comes down to your local and state governments on who they give the rights to be the carry in your particular location. At least the internet speed tiers are fast enough to handle gaming. Some with ATT can't get a reliable connection, and those with satellite, don't have much...
Redwin you are absolutely correct! The X1 however, has the HDMI input so you'll be able to connect your box directly. I haven't heard anything yet about an app for the X1.

It's going to be a great competition between Sony and Microsoft. I believe they both have some quality exclusives as well as the staple AAA titles from EA, Ubisoft, and Activision.

You gotta do what ya gotta do when you don't have to full game and it's good -JR
As much as they are pushing this as an entertainment device, it's a gaming system. If people wanted the X1 just as a Netflix portal, then they should buy a Roku or now an even cheaper Chromecast.
-JR
If they would jack up the price, wouldn't you think that it would be with a next gen? They are already running at about 50% of xbox 360 owners have Live right now.
-JR
Thanks for your comment. My guess is because all of the Game DVR will be ran by the Could Servers...which means you need Live to access them.
-JR
I didn't see that it was listed as "News". I should have checked that. (I wasn't the one that posted!). I'll change it now. -Rutledge
Edit: I can't change it now. Sorry!
Wow! We didn't expect this article to blow up like this! Really enjoying reading everyone's opinions! Keep em comin'!
What do you think about SmartGlass having the ability to set you up with matchmaking while you play another game? Could that be beneficial?
We're curious if that's going to happen. Obviously, there's been no news yet, but there's no way the NCAA would want to miss out on licensing revenue!
Couldn't agree more. Who wouldn't love mechs/parkour/killing stuff?
What score should it be given? Curious what others are thinking. Outside of the glaring bugs, which Trion is pumping away at, what else retracts from the score?
VGChartz has GTA V listed as selling 8.8 million copies on 360 and about the same number on PS3, at 8.6 million. These titles do NOT use the same servers on both consoles. So your figure of 15 million is way off Pin.
For comparison, CoD Modern Warfare 3 sold over 7 million copies in its first week on 360. Were there some problems? Yes, but not to the point of the game not even working.
