I got my 360 one month after launch and its been working *flawlessly*, no crashes, red rings or anything... until recently. It sits on my dresser vertical next to my PS3 that I "tried to sell" (10 inches apart & don't use both at the same time). Plenty of breathing room & no sunlight/sources of heat for the longest time.
About three weeks ago while playing Gears of War, the video went out, not the sound (I could hear my self walking & shooting) or anything...
@fjtorres
Plenty of devices use the FAT file system
Floppies: FAT12
USB Flash drives: FAT32/FAT16 (unless you change it to NTFS, HFS, Ext, Ext2, Ext3, etc...)
Some external Hard drives: FAT32
Its about time! Oh Yeeeeeeeah :-)
Why does Sony even have an image of PGR3? They even had the balls to put their logo on it LOL (shame)!
In any case, now we know that deep down inside, Sony thinks PGR3 graphics ROCK...
Dude, the article says by the middle of 2007, not by the end of the year.
You didn't even read the article and you're trying to start a flame war... thats totally lame.
These texture loading "problems" rarely occur, and when they do it normally takes 2-3 seconds (one time it took about 7 seconds though, that was the first time). It only happens when you die and your checkpoint is reloaded. I've played through the game and died... a lot, and seen them maybe 3 times.
They called me earlier and said they don't have enough for all the pre-orders, but they'll have mine. They said if I wait for the second shipment they'll give me a $20 DVD!
I'll be there on Friday, with my guard up!
Microsoft does use standard hard drives. They're SATA drives for laptops. But have to be formated & partitioned a certain way.
He reminds me of Howard Stern.
I got a call from GameStop & they said I can pick it up this afternoon.
A 1080p signal is a 1080p signal. Maybe they got shafted by Sony.
Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) CPUs were PURE 64-bit and were wickedly fast compared to 'anything' from Intel! Speaking of Intel, they integrated Alpha CPU technology into their Itanium processors.
@ Capt CHAOS
Microsoft is a software company at heart, they should have known better than to go with only 256 MB. That probably happened because the Xbox team is probably a hardware team.
But whatever the reason, at least they were wise enough to value the opinion of the 3rd party game developers.
@lalaland
HD movies 'max out' at 1080i on component connections only. The movies will play back at 1080p on VGA, DVI, and HDMI connections.
xbox360rocks,
540p & 1080i have the same amount of pixels on the screen at any given time.
(540 x 2 = 1080)
540p x 2 = 1080p
1080p / 2 = 1080i
540p = 1080i
"it's 1080i and their not going to be downscaled..."
HD-DVD movies are 1080p on the disc, if movies aren't downscaled, why do you say that they'll be displayed at 1080i?
When people start making pirated copies of HD-DVD/Blu-Ray mov...
Native 1080p over Component - supports games only (The HDTV must also support 1080p over Component).
Native 1080p over VGA - supports both games and movies (All HDTVs have a VGA input).
*1080p Movies over component are BLOCKED (downscaled to 540p or 1080i) because of copy protection.
*Some HDTVs don't list 1080p over component as a feature, but when tested, they displayed 1080p over component anyway.
When I preordered my PS3 they made me preorder a game too. I didn't like the selection so I preordered GoW. She rung me up for the collectors edition for $70 >:( [now I know what I'm getting].
These screen shots almost make me wanna keep my PS3 off eBay! The 360 version was good, although it was a bit short for me.
Question: Could this be considered a 2nd generation game for the PS3?
Logic behind the question: The PS3 was supposed to be released this past spring (due to Blu-Ray according to Sony), so this and some other games should have been at least 80%-90% done by then. Gears of War was delayed from spring 06 to fall 06 also, and that's coming along...
I totally hate Real media. You have to install Real Player crap (it totally sux). I'm surprised that they're still around after all of these years...
