Defiantly, Halo was the first game I ever played online and I think you have to have more skill to play Halo than you do COD.

They need some form of categorising, otherwise how are we to search for particular things? It makes sense really. If i was looking for a RTS and I got Fifa? Not a happy bunny.
As long as there is media hype about FPS like Halo and COD, they'll always sell millions, which means millions are playing it. It'll take a long time before they are 'dead' though.
I played the Beta and the new armour abilities defiantly helped spice up the old formula, i'd like to see how this suits the SP campaign though and how the A.I react to it!
I think the Halo Series has gone downhill really, I played 1 & 2 obsessively and since then i've lost all interest. I don't know whether to try my luck or just let the hype pass.
Yes! The local multiplayer defiantly makes this stand out from the Geometry Wars of XBLA. The tension of all sitting round the t.v desperately fighting over modes reminded me of sitting around a N64 playing Golden Eye with your mates.
It also reminds me of a bit in God of War 3.
