Everyone in the video game industry thinks they are Rockstars(ever since the advent of social media they all have huge egos and use Twitter and Facebook to promote their personal beliefs) and think they should make top dollar. Problem for them is video games are an expensive non essential hobby that people can quit. They should be looking inward on how to manage budgets and cut costs instead of trying to pass it on to the consumer.
I always laugh when big companies(or people within that big industry) believe they can and should always pass the cost on to the consumer instead of ever self evaluating or trying to find different ways to do something.
It's your money so spend it wisely. I am also free to spend my money elsewhere if I don't like certain aspects of the current political climate being injected into games for the sake of doing so.
