Its a traditional sales ploy, was used for the xbox elite controller as well. Limit initial supply, go out of stock, and get idiots to believe its in demand, when it truly isnt. The only people rushing to pre order this are Nintendo enthusiasts, it isn't converting gamers
Its another Nintendo gimmick thats why. Lets analyze this for a minute. Unless you are a kid, why do you need the portable ability? I can't take it to work, so its not like I am going to have it while I walk my dog or go to the mall, thus eliminating half of the reason to own. Then you have the actual at home console, which is under powered like usual for Nintendo since the N64(thats 20 years folks). So it all boils down to, do I still care about Mario and Zelda, and the answer is no. <...
The guy who beat it in 10 hours got all but one of the collectibles, which was what really got me concerned. First play through, ten hours almost got everything, that means they didn't rush and actually searched.
Again I am not worried about the quality of the game, but rather the fact that it is short and has little to no replay value after completion.

Yeah I hear you, Resident Evil is my second favorite series of all time, and I know the first game(my absolute fav in the series was short) but at least you had incentive to run through it again with the character you didn't choose for a slightly different experience, this game offers none of that
I am kinda worried about Resident Evil, people are beating it in under 10 hours, there are no extra modes after completion or another character to run through a modified version of the house. I am sure the game is fun, but I am beginning to question whether 7-10 hours of game play is worth the 60 bucks or a wait.

It always hasn't been with Nintendo, SNES and N64 were more powerful than their rivals. It wasn't until the company went to gimmicks that this has become true

I don't think this author knows what "classic" Nintendo was. NES, SNES,and N64 were the most powerful main stream consoles in their times(and had plenty of 3rd party support), this like the rest of the consoles since n64 is a gimmick, there is nothing classic about it

I bet Capcom will cry and try to take down streams etc, when all these companies have to do is stop sending their product to 3rd world countries that routinely break street dates. It happens all the time, you'd think some CEO would set up a system to ship the games the day before to avoid this.
The difference is you don't bring your ds4 outside the reach of your system. The switch peddles the portable gimmick as a huge deal to their system.
People are sick of Nintendo making gimmick consoles. Their last real console that didn't rely on some sort of gimmick happened 20 years ago, the n64 since then it's been all gimmicks. GameCube with the stupid small discs, wii with the motion controls, wii u with the game pad, and now switch which doubled down on the game pad. Not to mention being woefully underpowered.

Nintendo caters to 30 plus year olds who grew up on the NES and SNES and millennials who loved n64(their main draw is childhood nostalgia). Kids these days play more COD and Battlefield than Mario
