I hate ripten. Releasing a new "best video game ass" each day is just a feeble attempt to get more people to come to their site. Sad that this is making it into the top news each day...are we as gamers that sexually repressed?

Eh, nothing major it seems. At least they are keeping up with it though. The one thing in that list I am glad to hear is that finding a dedicated server is now easier. God damn that took a while most of the time.
Why does everyone think that this means 360? That's the power icon for the PS3. The circle with the line shooting from the middle to the top is the O in I/O on the PS3 unit. Plus, it is green when it turns on.

Most people are saying that there really won't be any difference, while others see the Jasper as the second coming. If you have the falcon, which is what most people buying the system nowadays have, you should be ok. I wouldn't get all worried about not having the most updated motherboard because these things are bound to change from time to time.
I thought the location of the chip was also changed? I'm not sure because I'm not into video game tech that much, but I thought I read somewhere that the chip location was changed so that it didn't overheat as fast. Could be an older molder of the chip that this applies to though...
I'm getting an xbox elite for xmas. It's the Holiday bundle with lego indiana jones and kung fu panda. I really hope the Jasper is in that system. Nothing would make me happier. Plus, it would make up for living with disc read errors for over a year before getting a new system. Oh the horror :)
I've been excited about this game for a while. And, I also put the best stock in IGN's reviewers. This was the perfect sight to begin my thanksgiving day. Bring on the annoying family members!

If you own a PS3, it's a must download because they will be releasing a lot of stuff for it. But I can guarantee this will not sell consoles. Unless of course, there are people who play Second Life and want to get into console gaming. Then the obvious choice will be PS3.
I'm sure they will expand upon it over time, but how far can you take a virtual world. The commenter above who referenced the CNN article is spot on. This is like second life, except with more mature graphics, a central theme (ps3), and no strange cartoon sex (thankfully). I agree, it sucks that this has to be done, but it's an obvious choice. I played a really cool batman level when the game first hit shelves. It was really neat. You had to escape Arkham or something. I was amazed at the time and polish of the level. I bet that was one that got the axe though. It's DC's intellectual property, and even though this is a small user created level, you just can't do that. Same with the God of War level.
But, I see this as a curse and a blessing...
Sony and Microsoft make games for gamers...Wii makes games for little kids and old people. Little kids and old people will buy all the shovelware crap that the Wii supports (carnival games, oh my!). Plus, it's half the price of the PS3. This is like comparing apples and oranges. You just can't. The Wii is successful because it's directed at the non gamer population. I mean, come on, grandparents are playing this system. You won't see grandma taking on an Chimera in R2 anytime soon.

wow, didn't see that one coming. Fable 2 is a stellar game, but game of the year? The only other game on there I couldn't see winning was left 4 dead (and I love left 4 dead). I think it should have gone to Fallout 3, with MGS in a close second.
