This isn't the first time there has been controversy with regards to Metacritic's weighted average system, but please, enough with this MS wrote a check crap... Metacritic is not an average. It gives some publications more weight than others. Therefore, it isn't a rounding of a decimal point, but a belief that some peoples opinions are better than others. If you don't like it, than stop going to the damn site.

Your point doesn't take into consideration publicity. The Wii has won purely because it has breached new markets, gets constant coverage on daily news channels, and when the new games or wii technologies are released (motion plus, wii sports resort, which everyone seems to forget was just released and will most likely continue to control sales for the next couple months in a wii fit/wii play kind of way) they are given so much promotion/publicity that every soccer mom and grandma wants one so...
