That is why they didnt include it. Kinect is not peripheral. It is a part of the X1's functionality. You cant justify a camera for something that has voice recognition and motion detection to control your console. The EYE wasn't a justified $100 increase. The 360 was less powerful than the PS3 and what did you learn from that? The $100 difference comes from Kinect being added in. PS4 is priced just for the console itself. Kinect cannot be sold separately since it's not considered a peripheral any longer. It's part of the architecture of the console and is an integral part of the functionality. The PS Eye is not equivalent to Kinect so adding a 59.99 peripheral is pointless. There's a reason for everything
2 Years ago Sony was going to implement DRM in PS4. MS agreed and adopted the same philosophy. At the MS reveal in May after announcing it to the world, MS took a huge PR hit and community backlash. Sony saw this and immediately changed gears for their E3 announcement. It wasn't until the end when Sony announced that they wont have everything MS got hammered for did they get anyone excited. Titan Fall is definitely one of the games that PS4 seriously wants to see, but being that EA is the publisher, I am sure they are porting it as we speak. Only real gamers know this is the case. Only fanboys will dismiss the fact that Sony dropped the $100 off because the EYE is not comparable to Kinect as far as funtionality and doesnt constitute the price increase. If the EYE could do motion detection and voice recognition that integrates with the function of the console then you would have seen a $499 PS4
