Because they wanted to try and turn a profit out of it. Ps now and all those remakes have no place if ps4 is backwards compatible. It's a business model.
I think people try and have something to complain about. We spend more time looking for negatives in everything rather than appreciating creativeness. I believe this really started in gaming on the PS3 with the game Haze. It was so hyped, huge exclusive for the system and reviews completely destroyed that game.
