Yeah, too bad somebody like Freddie Wong or Angry Joe didn't make a video.
TotalBiscuit quickly mentioned the project, but that was before the new pitch with the TakeDown video and info. He didn't seem too enthousiastic and gave more attention to Wasteland 2 (also a great project!).
Christian worked on both tactical and arcade shooters. Who better to distinguish between them?
I cannot imagine him coming back on all the promises he made. If he wanted to make an arcade shooter he could have just continued working for a big publisher.
Ghost Recon is not the only series that has been streamlined/made accessible by shifting its focus to a more arcade-like shooter. Happened to Rainbow Six as well, just like all FPS franchises.
...
The skill threshold of a tactical shooter is MUCH higher than of games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield 3, in my opinion. You reach your max really fast with those games, unlike RTS games like Starcraft where CPM are important.
You also need intelligence and patience, something not always present in a certain category of gamers.
Even if this was the case and he would turn TakeDown into a streamlined arcade shooter, he would sure be putting his reputation on the line.
If he messes this up he will be the laughing stock of thousands of gamers and also putting Kickstarter to shame.
He can still fail at making a good game, but deliberately turning into a arcade shooter? I think not, he'd rather leave the project, like he did before, to become an indie dev, and follow his dream.
Yeah, but we shouldn't give up until the very last moment. You never know when you set off a chain reaction after telling certain sites/people.
Perhaps the investors are already convinced that it is a viable genre, but they cannot reveal that because people might stop pledging, thinking "Oh why waste my money if it's already going to be made".
