Well, everything is better on Vita. Netflix, youtube, thumbsticks,any game that is on both consoles, the vita is going to be the better looking game.Not everyone can afford to drive a Porsche, so some go for a Toyota Yaris.3ds didn't sell well until they dropped the price below 200 to 170. Sony waited over a year to bring the vita down from 250 to 200.Not to mention the cost of sony's memory cards for the vita. This may be so,but the experience of playing on a handheld console(Vita) is much different than on a smartphone or any other touch screen only device. Not to mention the quality of the games themselves,LBP,KZM,UGA,P4,Raym nLgn,Fifa Soccer,Dragons Crwn,Soul Sac,Mlb the show 13,DOA 5plus, even Madden football on the Vita plays way better than on any smartphone or tablet.

A price drop to 169.99 with a minecraft bundle and lots of advertisement pointing out that minecraft for Vita is the full console version and only console version for a handheld. Done right,it could capture a wider audience.
